PRESIDENT BUHARI VOWS TO MAKE SURE THAT THE NIGER KILLERS IN IMO STATE ARE FISHED OUT AND DEALT WITH IN NO DISTANT TIME

 

 

In the wake of the gruesome killing of six Nigerien citizens in the Southeastern region, President Muhammadu Buhari has come out to react to the attack.

For those who are not aware, on Thursday, August 4, 2022, news filtered into the media space indicating that some armed assailants suspected to be members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), had launched an attack on a building mostly occupied by northerners and migrants from the Niger Republic in Orogwe community, Owerri Local Government Area of Imo State.

According to a report by the DAILY TRUST, no fewer than 6 Nigerien citizens were killed by the gunmen who allegedly mistook them to be Hausa migrants from the north.

Reacting to the ugly incident, President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to take drastic actions against the perpetrators.

Speaking through his Senior Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu on Sunday, August 7, the President condemned the act while promising a speedy investigation that will see the killers brought to justice as quickly as possible.

Going further, Buhari urged leaders and residents of communities to not only speak out against such killings but also help the investigators by pointing out those behind the crime. He then went on to assure the general public of his administration’s commitment to delivering a stable Southeast region as well as a peaceful country as a whole.
